Elon Musk states that headlines will once again be displayed on platform X.

Elon Musk, the CEO of X (formerly known as Twitter), has announced that the social media platform will reintroduce headlines in preview cards for URLs. This decision reverses the company's earlier move to eliminate titles from these previews, a change initially made in October for aesthetic reasons.

In a recent X post, Musk revealed plans for an upcoming update where titles will be overlaid on the upper part of the image in a URL card. However, he did not provide a specific timeline for this update or showcase what the new card design might look like.

X's previous elimination of titles in URL previews had forced users to click or tap on the URL card to view the headline or title, creating an additional step to access this information. As a workaround, publishers began incorporating headlines directly onto images or posting them separately alongside the link to maintain visibility.

The upcoming change to reintroduce headlines could simplify content sharing for publishers, allowing them to return to traditional formats without the need for custom image modifications.

This announcement comes amid a period of significant change and challenge for X, marked by notable advertisers like Apple, Disney, and Comcast pausing their advertising spending in response to Musk's controversial statements and actions. Additionally, Paris Hilton's 11:11 Media recently ended its partnership with the platform, only a few weeks after it was established.
